About Land Registry sold prices

HM Land Registry records the sale price of every property transaction in England and Wales. This data is publicly available and updated monthly. Transactions typically appear 4-6 weeks after completion.

Sold prices are useful for understanding local market values, but they don't account for property condition, improvements made since the last sale, or current market conditions. For a more nuanced view, HomeThink's AI valuation compares against adjusted comparables.

This tool searches the last 5 years of transactions. If a specific postcode has few results, nearby postcodes (same outcode area) are included automatically.

Frequently asked questions

How current is the sold price data?
Land Registry data is typically updated monthly. Transactions appear 4-6 weeks after completion. The latest data may lag the current market by a few months.
Does this cover all of the UK?
Land Registry covers England and Wales. Scotland uses Registers of Scotland, and Northern Ireland uses Land & Property Services — neither is included in this search.
Why are some addresses incomplete?
Land Registry records use a standardised format (PAON, street, town) which may not include flat numbers, building names, or full addressing. Some transactions, particularly new-builds, may have limited address data initially.
Can I see the full UK price paid dataset?
Yes, HM Land Registry publishes the complete Price Paid dataset as open data. This tool queries it in real-time via SPARQL, filtered to your postcode and the last 5 years.
